Headliner

William Matthews III

Multi-Disciplinary Artist & Advocate

William Matthews III (WMIII) is a multi-disciplinary Artist x Advocate offering hope to anyone on the margins.

From 2010 to 2016, he was the first solo artist signed to Bethel Music, helping shape a global sound that defined a generation of modern worship. His songwriting and voice were featured on multiple #1 Billboard albums, leading to over 120 million streams and worldwide tours. But his greatest legacy from that era may be the doors he opened—for Black & Brown artists, for bold vulnerability, and for a deeper spiritual honesty.

In 2017, WMIII joined The Liturgists Podcast, becoming a powerful voice at the intersection of spirituality, justice, and identity. His work as an advocate for racial equity, queer liberation, and climate justice has been featured in documentaries, national platforms, and spaces often closed to people like him.

Now fully independent, WMIII has transitioned into a boundary-pushing pop artist, bringing his clever lyricism, lush melodies, and genre-bending creativity to the forefront. One of his latest singles, “Oops!”— is a bold, catchy exploration of queer joy and self-reclamation—released this summer.
